I was the lead matte painter for Something Wicked This Way Comes. Disney execs decided that the film needed a different opening to set the mood. I drew a number of "inspiration sketches", a selection of which were sent to Ray Bradbury for him to use as reference in writing an opening monologue. A crew was assembled to go to Vermont to shoot the exteriors and I went along to help pick locations for the mattes. This plate was shot near Jeffersonville, next to a pig farm... The plate is RP'd against a glass painting with the matte camera on a motion control track to add movement to the shot.
