Jean McCurdy borrowed me from Osmosis Jones to help with a "proof of concept" test for a 3D CG version of the Smurfs. I was assigned to art direct the test. I painted a key as a lighting guide and worked with the modeler and lighter. I also painted all of the texture maps used in the test. The test is a long single shot of about 30 seconds duration. We had a very tight schedule so there wasn't time to create 30 seconds of character animation. I suggested that we use the camera to tell a simple story by traveling around the room to reveal the Smurfs toward the end of the shot. This is a large clip so it may take a little time to download.
